About Metro Sign Services

Our History...

The interest in signs began for Metro Sign Services owner, Greg Hughes, back in 1986.  Greg created and managed an in-house sign company for a leading Twin Cities area real estate company.  It was then discovered that Greg has a real passion for the sign business and dedication to his customers.  After 9 years of service, it was time to take all that experience and create a company that could serve a greater range of customers and signage needs.

In 1995, Greg Hughes founded Metro Sign Services.  As many early companies do, Greg worked out of his garage and home shop.  With his work bench, vinyl plotter and personal truck, he started taking orders for custom signs and installations.  Hard work and his need for perfection were noticed very quickly. As customers, including other sign companies, started to call for custom installations, it soon became apparent that this is what Metro Sign Services would specialize in.  This is because Greg takes great care and pride in the hard work that goes into simple and complex installations.

Greg has always thrived on the challenge to fulfill each sign project to exceed expectations.  The addition of equipment, technology, skilled employees, and warehouse space, has allowed the company to carry out this challenge and allows it to continue to grow today.  The decades of experience has provided the understanding that each sign, banner, or installation is as unique as the customer.  It is this awareness that has helped Metro Signs Services build a well deserved reputation as - The company that provides quality products and services determined by the needs of each customer.
